Vail welcomes guests from all over the world to ski and snowboard Vail Mountain. And, while we are lucky that this experience takes part outside in the fresh open mountain air, we are still committed to doing our part to keep our guests and employees safe.
Mountain Access
We will NOT have a mountain reservation system this season and will load lifts and gondolas at normal capacity.
Face Coverings
Face coverings are not currently required in indoor settings, including Vail Resorts restaurants, restrooms, Vail Resorts lodging properties, retail and rental locations. Face coverings are not currently required on Vail’s Gondolas – Gondola 1 not the Eagle Bahn Gondola. Face coverings are not required on chairlifts at this time.
On Mountain Dining

Ski & Snowboard School
Best pricing and availability is available online, in advance. Be aware that Ski & Ride School may be available on dates when lift tickets are unavailable. Book a lesson and add a discounted lift ticket at checkout! To book a group lesson within 24 hours or a private lesson within 48 hours, please visit one of our Ski & Snowboard sales locations or call ahead. Our cancellation policy is available here. Make sure all members of your group have a pass or lift ticket and rent gear if needed. Arrive 30 minutes before the lesson to allow time for check-in. If you or your child are picking up rental gear, arrive 60 minutes early. Check-in for the lesson at the location or base area you selected while booking. All group lessons will be sorted by ability level and child lessons will be sorted by age. The instructor will determine a plan for the day based on individual needs or group goals. World-class instructors will help all participants have fun exploring more of the mountain by practicing new techniques at their own pace. All Full Day lessons will include a break for lunch, with food provided only for child lessons. If you are dropping off a child, make sure to confirm location and pick-up time. The instructor will provide a summary of their lesson and your child’s progress at pick-up.
Cashless Transactions
For guest and employee safety, all transactions will be cashless unless otherwise required by local law. This includes Vail Resorts owned/operated hotels, restaurants, ski and ride school, and all other Vail Resorts points of sale. For the best experience, book and pay online in advance.
Trail Maps & Grooming Reports
Trail maps and grooming reports are available on the Epic Mix App and our website. Paper trail maps will be available in-resort upon request.
Cleaning Enhancements
Hand sanitizing stations are provided throughout the resort. We are frequently using EPA-approved products that kill the COVID-19 virus on all of our high-touch surfaces and restrooms, and we are applying enhanced cleaning and disinfecting practices across our resort, including in our gondola cabins.
Do Your Part Please
Please stay home if you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Thank you!
