Vail’s walkable villages, helpful bike-sharing programs, and free/low-fee bus services allow visitors numerous ways to get around town. Explore bus schedules, carpooling and ride sharing, bike rentals and parking.

Summer Paid Parking
Paid parking in Vail Village, Lionshead, Red Sandstone Garage, Ford Park Lot, and the Soccer Lot will be in effect from May 29, 2026. Retail or drive-up rates at all locations will be $2 per hour, with the first hour free, and a maximum of $10 per transaction. Free entry is available after 3 p.m. until 4 a.m. at the Vail Village and Lionshead structures. Transactions end upon exit; vehicles must exit for 30 minutes before re-entering.

  • Overnight parking in Vail Village & Lionshead structures: $45 (charged between 4 a.m.–5 a.m., max 14 days); $35 at the Red Sandstone Garage (levels 1, 2, and 3 only, max 14 days). No overnight parking at Ford Park or Soccer Lots.
  • Event parking at Ford Park and Soccer Lots is $20 at entry during scheduled times. View the Event Parking Calendar for the schedule.
  • Oversized vehicles (RVs/Trailers) park on N. Frontage Road in West Vail: $45 per day for overnight parking in the area west of Vail Fire Station 3 (marked with blue rope). Vehicles must register using ParkMobile signs.

Summer Free Parking

Free parking is available at all locations for up to one hour in the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures, and at Red Sandstone Garage, Ford Park, and the Soccer Lots. Free entry is also available at the Vail Village and Lionshead structures after 3 p.m. until 4 a.m.

  • Short stays/drop-offs: Exit within the first hour free at any town-owned structure or lot. Transactions end upon exit; vehicles must exit for 30 minutes before re-entering.
  • Evening parking: Free if entering after 3 p.m. until 4 a.m. at Vail Village and Lionshead structures.
  • Donovan Parking Lot: Free day parking with free bus service into Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Periodic restrictions apply on event days — check the Event Parking Calendar for availability.

Donovan Park

Free day parking is available with vehicle registration by scanning the QR code on the ParkMobile signs displayed around the lot. The location provides free bus service into Vail Village and Lionshead Village and is located at 1600 S. Frontage Rd. W. Periodic day-parking restrictions may occur based on events at Donovan Pavilion; event dates can be viewed in advance on the Event Parking Calendar. Overnight parking is not permitted between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
