A Scenic Trip in any Season

Vail’s walkable villages, helpful bike-sharing programs, and free/low-fee bus services allow visitors numerous ways to get around town. Explore bus schedules, carpooling and ride sharing, bike rentals and parking.

Winter Paid Parking

Paid parking in Vail Village, Lionshead, Red Sandstone Garage, Ford Park Lot, and Soccer Lot runs from Nov. 15, 2025 – April 20, 2025.

  • Overnight parking in Vail Village & Lionshead structures: $60
  • Oversized vehicles (RVs/Trailers) park on N. Frontage Road in West Vail: $60 per 24 hours (max 5 days)

Winter Free Parking

Free parking is available all season in the Village and Lionshead structures for up to 2 hours.

  • Short stays/drop-offs: Use Village structure’s top deck or Lionshead’s East Lionshead Circle.
  • Evening parking: Free from 3 p.m. – 3 a.m. (Entries between 1–3 p.m. incur charges).
  • Overflow parking: Allowed only when both structures are full (South Frontage Road).

When Village & Lionshead structures are full, free parking is allowed on South Frontage Road until 11 p.m. Do not block driveways or intersections (50 ft. clearance). No parking from Main Vail roundabout to Vail Valley Drive for safety and bike traffic.

Donovan Park

Free parking is available at Donovan Park from 7am to 11pm, located at 1600 South Frontage Rd., with 90 spaces on days when the pavilion isn’t in use. A sign will be used at the park’s entrance to indicate availability each day. The parking area is serviced by the Matterhorn bus stop, which is located west of the park at the intersection of Matterhorn Circle and West Gore Creek Drive.

Electric Vehicle Charging Staging

To accommodate the growing demand for electric vehicle charging capacity, 10 multi-port Level 2 electric vehicle ChargePoint charging stations are available (6 in the Vail Village Parking Structure, 1 in the Lionshead Parking Structure, and 1 on level 1, 2, and 3 of Red Sandstone Garage).
