We are here to help
The Vail Village and Lionshead welcome centers provide personal information and recommendations on “all things Vail.” The knowledgeable staff can assist you in navigating town and provide event, activity, dining, shopping and lodging information from a locals’ perspective. Be sure to stop in early during your vacation to make sure you are not missing anything while in Vail and make the most of your time here.

What are the Vail Welcome Centers hours?
Both Vail Welcome Center locations are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the year.
Where are the Vail welcome centers located?
- Vail Village: Inside the Transportation Center, at 395 E. Lionshead Circle, Vail
- Lionshead: Near the west entrance to the Lionshead base area at 241 S. Frontage Road W. #8150, Vail
Is there public parking near the welcome centers?
Yes. Both the Vail Village and Lionshead welcome centers are located next to large parking structures. Parking policies and rates change seasonally.
Winter season (Nov. 14–April 19):
- Free for the first hour
- $10 per hour after the first hour on non-peak days, up to $30 max
- $10 per hour after the first hour on peak days, up to $50 max
- Free after 3 p.m. (must exit by 4 a.m.)
- $60 overnight parking
Summer season (May 30–Sept. 28):
- Free for the first hour
- $2 per hour after the first hour, up to $10 max
- Free after 3 p.m. (must exit by 4 a.m.)
- $60 overnight parking
Note: No overnight parking is allowed on the top decks of either structure. A 30-minute gap is required before reentering after exiting.
Can I store my gear or change clothes at the Vail welcome centers?
Yes. The Lionshead Welcome Center has handy day-use lockers — a great option if you need to stash skis, change layers or prep for the slopes:
- Small lockers: $1
- Large lockers: $1.50
Do the Welcome Centers have public restrooms and other amenities?
Yes. Both locations feature clean restrooms, comfortable seating, nearby vending machines and even workstations if you need to check emails or regroup during your trip.
Is there info about Vail’s history or sustainability practices?
Yes. Both centers include panels and displays on Vail’s history, wildlife, water conservation and sustainability efforts. Staff are knowledgeable and happy to share more.
How can I find out what’s happening in Vail?
Each center features a calendar showcasing Vail’s upcoming concerts, festivals, local programs and more. It’s one of the best places to get an overview of what’s happening during your stay.
Can I get a paper map?
Yes — just ask! Both welcome centers keep Colorado and Vail maps stocked.
Is there public art at the welcome centers?
Yes. Both the Vail Village and Lionshead welcome centers feature pieces from the Town of Vail’s public art collection. In Vail Village, look for Red Eddy by Paul Vexler suspended above the desk. At Lionshead, you’ll find Wapiti by Ben Roth above the fireplace and Flower Tree, a colorful plexiglass piece near the west entrance.
