Vail Jazz Festival Lineup Adds More Events, Musicians

VAIL, Colo. – April 5, 2022–The 28th Annual Vail Jazz Festival summer lineup has landed some terrific new additions to the lineup, as this year’s schedule continues to evolve into Vail Jazz’s best. In addition to the Thursday evening Headliner series announced last month (tickets currently on sale at VailJazz.org), the lineup has confirmed details for several other Vail Jazz Festival events. The Festival is sponsored by the Town of Vail, Alpine Bank, and the Jazz Cruise.

THE VAIL JAZZ FESTIVAL KICKOFF PARTY

The Festival Kickoff Party is Thursday June 30, 2022, at 5 p.m. at the Arrabelle Hotel in Lionshead, and is the place to kick off the summer in Vail Jazz style! This elegant evening includes a cocktail reception, dinner, and performance from jazz giants and good friends Diego Figueiredo and Ken Peplowski. Tickets range from $200 for General Admission to $250 for a VIP Experience. Tickets will be on sale to the public on April  12, 2022 at 10AM. The Kickoff Party is underwritten by Margie and Chuck Steinmetz.

SUNDAY NIGHTS AT SOLARIS 

Returning for its second season is the free Sunday evening series, Vail Jazz at Solaris. These family-friendly, early evening concerts introduce audiences to exciting regional acts and Colorado student bands, spanning many jazz subgenres. Vail Jazz at Solaris runs every Sunday at 5:30 pm, July 3-August 24, 2022.

7/31/22:          Lionel Young Quintet

8/7/22:            The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra Sextet Presents Sass, Swingin’ and Standards

8/14/22:          Tony Monaco’s Tribute to Dr. Lonnie Smith & the Giants of the B-3

8/21/22:          Peter Olstad’s Rocky Mountain All-Stars

“Last summer, Vail Jazz at Solaris was a joyous community gathering place and we couldn’t be happier to be presenting it again,” said Amanda Blevins, Executive Director at Vail Jazz. “This summer we bring all styles of jazz to the Plaza, spanning swing to salsa to big band. We hope Vail Valley guests and locals join us for some incredible music at Solaris.”

VAIL JAZZ PARTY LABOR DAY WEEKEND

 THE event that started it all!  The Vail Jazz Party (VJP)over Labor Day weekend – September 1 – 5, 2022 – brings together some of the biggest names in jazz in a constellation of group performances. Vail Jazz Party events will feature daytime music sessions (including the Sunday morning Gospel session) held under the Jazz Tent at Vail Square in Lionshead Village, and evening events hosted at The Hythe Vail (formerly the Vail Marriott).

This year’s Vail Jazz Party is a celebration of the life of Jeff Clayton, who was part of Vail Jazz since the beginning.  A specially formed Big Band will play music composed and performed by the late Clayton.

All-Access Patron Passes ($575) VailJazz.org/vail-jazz-party/  include entry into all sessions of music as well as a welcome reception and brunch before the popular Sunday morning Gospel show. Individual tickets to the Gospel show ($95) are also available at VailJazz.org; tickets to other individual music sessions may be released later in the summer pending availability.Ensembles:
