American Ski Exchange

The American Ski Exchange has been a part of the Vail community since 1986. Along with many years of experience, the Exchange is one of the few places where you can rent ski clothes along with regular equipment. They offer several rental packages, including options for kids and those who don’t need boots. Try their larger group package for 10 or more people, which can be booked 72 hours in advance — perfect for a short-notice family ski trip.

Vista Bahn Ski Rentals

Vista Bahn Ski Rentals is an ideal place to get everything you forgot at home with poles, helmets and boots available for separate by-the-day rentals. Bilingual, Spanish-English speaking staff members ensure all visitors have the best experience when it comes to fulfilling your skiing and snowboarding needs. As an added bonus, this ski shop is only 18 steps from Gondola One, and you can get free equipment storage with any rental.

Ski Base

Ski Base is one of Vail’s oldest family-owned and -operated ski shops. Here, you’ll find an assortment of ski- and snowboard-rental equipment, including outerwear, as well as items for purchase, such as a wide range of stylish, high-end goggles. Whether you rent for one day or eight, all equipment rentals include free gear storage. For boots, you can pay a small fee to have them dried overnight and ready for you first thing in the morning.

Black Tie Ski Rentals of Vail

While they may not show up in a tux, Black Tie Ski Rentals of Vail will bring your skis, board and boots to you and custom fit your equipment at your lodging. Their mobile units also provide slopeside assistance if you need to switch out your gear, plus convenient equipment pickup. Need something last minute? Black Tie welcomes walk-in day-of rentals — as long as they’re stocked. They also offer rental discounts to powderhounds with their own boots.

Christy Sports

Check out Christy Sports in Vail Village, Lionshead or West Vail. These shops offer a variety of rental options as well as gear and winter sports outerwear for purchase. If you’re looking for a new set of snowboard or ski boots, Christy has a boot-fit guarantee and will customize them by molding the shells, liners and footbeds to your feet.

Vail Sports

Get on the mountain asap by picking up your ski equipment at Vail Sports’ Lionshead ski rental shop, and make a beeline to the Eagle Bahn Gondola. Additional stores are located throughout the Lionshead and Vail villages with two right on the mountain. Or have everything delivered and waiting at your vacation abode. As a bonus, Epic Pass holders get extra discounts on services.

Venture Sports

With a fun slogan like, “Friends don’t let friends ride junk,” you can expect high-quality ski and snowboard rentals from Venture Sports. Grab your gear — including snowshoe rentals for an off-day adventure — at their stores throughout the Vail and Lionshead villages. You can also visit special locations in select Vail accommodations or get your equipment brought to you with their delivery service.

Epic Mountain Rentals

Epic Mountain Rentals provides sport, demo and performance equipment for mountain athletes, including a selection of snowboards and skis for slope aficionados ages 12 and under. Got an Epic Pass? Put it to good use and take advantage of the shop’s pass-holder-only rewards.
