Event Details

On July 19, 1887, Alice Eastwood and Alfred Russel Wallace began a Colorado journey together to explore the alpine plants of Grays Peak. Come hear their exciting story and how their adventure and collections were re-created over 135 years later by both Amy Schneider and Betty Ford Alpine Gardens!

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens is an internationally acclaimed botanic gardens known for its alpine horticulture, education and conservation. It is the highest elevation botanical garden in North America situated at 8,200’ (2,700 m) in the central Rocky Mountains.
