Vail Mountain Music Offers Late-summer Good Vibrations – and Value

Partner Press Release – Antlers at Vail

Vail, Colorado – August 6, 2024 – Late summer in the Colorado Rockies is a magical time for enjoying concerts amid cool, clean mountain air and starry skies. Vail, with its stunning Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre, international reputation and choice of several free outdoor concert series, is a top mountain music destination – and the Antlers at Vail hotel, easy walking distance to all the action on the banks of Gore Creek in pedestrian-friendly Lionshead Village, offers a dreamy, amenities-rich home base.

In its inaugural year, Lionshead Live offers free outdoor performances on Thursday evenings in Lionshead Village’s Arrabelle Square – a short block’s stroll from the Antlers – with concerts on tap for 2024 including talented Colorado singer, songwriter and keyboardist Bill McKay on August 29. A longtime favorite Vail free-concert series, the Tuesday-night Hot Summer Nights, brings its best to the iconic open-air Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, known as “The Amp” – with convenient access from the Antlers via the Gore Creek bike path, or a short ride on the free shuttle buses that stop outside the hotel. This year’s season ends September 10 with a Vail Valley Foundation community concert by JoJo & Friends, featuring Widespread Panic’s renowned piano-man, John “JoJo” Hermann. And as fall starts changing the aspen leaves, another no-charge series, the FreeFall Bluegrass Festival, brings famed fiddlers and more to Vail Village, October 11-13.

The Amp Summer Concerts, Vail’s popular ticketed series at the amphitheater, continues through August and September, boasting headliner performances like Amos Lee and Indigo Girls on September 13 (tickets from $56) and Barenaked Ladies (with special guest Toad the Wet Sprocket) on September 22 (from $60.50). Also returning in 2024, the Vail Jazz Party hosts top acts, August 30 – September 1, in an intimate setting at Howard’s Hangout, as well as in an expansive tent at Manor Vail Lodge (general admission tickets, $100, with multi-day passes available).

Livable luxury reigns at Antlers at Vail hotel, where condominium guest suites from studios to four-bedrooms include fully outfitted kitchens, dining areas, spacious living rooms with gas fireplaces, and private balconies complete with propane grills for adding an impromptu barbecue to taking in the view and mountain breezes – as well as a caring staff known for their make-yourself-at-home brand of customer service. Meanwhile, the Antlers’ late-summer shoulder-season rates, starting from $279/night for a studio suite (plus tax, based on availability; NO resort fee), paired with the hotel’s long list of unexpected no-charge amenities – and mingled with Vail’s wealth of free concert options – makes for amazing mountain-music value.
