The New Gambit Bar: A Risk Worth Taking

The Gambit Bar, Vail’s newest après and cocktail bar, promises art that guests can taste, see and hear. Located in Vail’s most art-centric hotel, The Sebastian – Vail, The Gambit Bar, is the place to be, and to be seen. This sophisticated yet inviting gathering place pays homage to classic flavors with surprising twists in both taste and delivery, as well as to storied people — artists, historical Vail figures, and the newest torchbearers lighting Vail’s way. The Gambit Bar’s fresh, modern approach looks forward, to the hope of the future, while tipping its hat to the luxury of decades past, from the 1920s to the ‘40s and ‘50s. The Gambit is open from 3-11 p.m. daily with artful cocktails, savory bites and live music.

Alpenrose Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Vail’s quintessential German restaurant, Alpenrose, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the restaurant will once again offer its unique gondola dining experience this winter, complete with raclette grill and fondue for lunch and dinner. The Alpenrose, which opened in 1974, also offers a full lunch and dinner menu of traditional German dishes with an international culinary inspiration from Apfelstrudel to Zartes Kalbsgulash. The restaurant’s warmth and hospitality has made it a must visit for area residents and guests. The Alpenrose plans to announce additional anniversary celebrations throughout the coming year.

New Archetype Distillery Tasting Room in Vail Village

Archetype Distillery, the first dedicated gin distiller in the Vail Valley, recently opened a new tasting room in Vail Village. Located along Gore Creek near the International Bridge, the new tasting room offers more than two dozen vacuum distilled spirits as well as Archetype’s flagship gins and vodka. Signature cocktails, gin and vodka samples, elevated bar snacks as well as crafted selection of non-alcoholic beverages are available Wednesday through Monday from 2:30-9:30 p.m.

 Ridge + River at Manor Vail Lodge Now Open

Manor Vail Lodge’s new Ridge + River Mountainside Kitchen offers a warm culinary experience with floor-to-ceiling windows and locally sourced ingredients. The imaginative menu includes sophisticated spirits, a thoughtful wine list, and Colorado brews. Guests can enjoy a table at the base of Vail Mountain with uninterrupted views. Whether by the stone fireplace, on the outdoor patio, or in the private dining room, it’s a unique social spot. Ridge + River is a memorable backdrop for large and small gatherings alike. Chasing Rabbits Debuts New Winter Entertainment Schedule

Chasing Rabbits is a unique entertainment venue located in Solaris Plaza. The 13,000 square foot venue offers many experiences including dining, dancing, a speakeasy, library lounge, and a revamped arcade. This year winter programming at Chasing Rabbits includes weekly bingo, karaoke, live jazz, and tableside magic. For guests looking to dance the night away in Vail’s hottest club, Chasing Rabbits is bringing in DJs from around the country and world. The weekend starts with Lucky Fridays in Rabbit Hole which will feature a rotating list of DJs. Saturday nights guests get the full Rabbit Hole experience, playing Arcade games while DJs curate the perfect soundtrack. Special Saturdays will even have unique theme nights like Taylor Swift and 80s rock night as well as magic in the Speakeasy. On Sunday night, the Cottontail Club will now be hosted in Moon Rabbit with LANDO as Chasing Rabbits’ resident DJ. Leonora at The Sebastian – Vail is offering an enchanting experience this winter with heated outdoor igloo dining. Nestled in the heart of Vail Village, guests can reserve one of Leonora’s two cozy igloos for an unforgettable evening of alpine ambiance and culinary delights. The igloo dining experience offers a set pre-fixe menu of delectable dishes with an array of hot beverages, premium beer and wine and craft cocktails  These captivating, heated domes are available for two-hour bookings for up to six guests on OpenTable at 5:30 pm or 8 pm Wednesday – Sunday.

First Chair Restaurant Now Open in Vail Village

Located at the top of Bridge Street in Vail Village, First Chair offers fast-casual dining designed to help keep skiers on the slopes until it’s time to gather for après. The approachable comfort foods menu offers options from sunup to sun down with breakfast burritos in the morning and burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner. During après, First Chair offers free warm chocolate chip cookies.

New Winter Plant Exhibit & Snowshoe Opportunities at the Betty Ford Alpine Garden

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, North America’s highest botanic garden, has a new winter exhibit perfect for anyone missing plants while they are covered with snow. The beauty of winter plants is on full displayed in the juried exhibition Rocky Mountain High, by the Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists (RMSBA). Betty Ford Alpine Gardens has partnered with the RMSBA to illustrate 40 examples of Colorado’s smallest and toughest plants in amazing detail. The exhibit will be on display at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens Education Center through March. The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens offer an easy way to explore the outdoors off the slopes with its snowshoeing program. The self-guided snowshoe occurs daily 10 a.m.-3 p.m., snowshoes and poles are available for rent, or guests can sign up for a guided tour on Wednesday’s at 10:30 a.m. to learn more about the trees and adaptations alpine plants and animals use to survive the harsh high-altitude winters.

Race into the New Year with activates from the Vail Recreation District. This winter, Vail Rec race opportunities include the Vail Mountain Winter Uphill Race on Feb. 18 and the Krueger Family Shamrock Shuffle on March 16. New Women’s Shopping Experience at Elleston By Perch

The new Elleston by Perch is now open in Vail Village. Located on the Solaris Plaza, Elleston is a high-end women’s luxury boutique, carrying advanced contemporary and designer brands from all over the world. The store is an off-shoot of the popular retail experience Perch, which is located across the street.
