Vail’s Live Music & Entertainment Events, Summer 2021

In addition to the live music at many of Vail’s bars and restaurants, Vail’s event calendar is full of live music and entertainment throughout the summer and fall months. From jazz, classical orchestra, today’s and yesterday’s favorites, and well-loved local bands, Vail’s music scene will just make you feel good! Grab your dancing shoes and check out the line-up!

Pop-Up Concerts & Live Music | All summer | FREE
Many of Vail’s favorite local musicians bring their music to the streets of Vail with pop-up performances throughout Vail Village and Lionshead. Be surprised and delighted as you happen upon these high-energy outdoor performances this summer!

Hot Summer Nights | Select Tuesdays, June 22-August 31, 2021
Hot Summer Nights has been a longstanding Vail tradition for 20+ years and a favorite Tuesday night scene for locals and visitors alike. This free concert series brings popular bands from today and yesterday to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Bring a picnic (food is available for purchase), grab a beverage (wine, beer, and cocktails available for purchase), spread out a blanket, and enjoy a music-filled evening.

Vail Craft Beer Classic | June 24-26, 2021
Craft beer lovers rejoice! The Vail Craft Beer Classic is Colorado’s highest-altitude beer tasting. Join in the fun this summer for two beer-filled days of events – from paired lunches to hiking with a brewer, and of course hundreds of craft beers, ciders, and seltzers to sample from.

Bravo! Vail | June 24-August 5, 2021
Bravo! Vail brings world-renowned musicians to picturesque venues throughout Vail for nearly seven weeks, drawing music lovers from around the world for its 35th season. It’s the only festival in North America to host four of the world’s finest orchestras in a single season. Be sure to purchase seats under the awning or on the lawn in advance.

Vail Jazz Festival | July 8-September 6, 2021
This 10-week summer program brings the best talent in jazz to Vail across 50+ performances.

  • Fridays: Enjoy free Jazz in the Park at the lower bench of Ford Park. 
  • Thursdays: Head to Vail Square at 6pm for Jazz on the Square
  • Sundays: You’ll find Jazz playing from noon-3pm at Jazz at the Market, and later at 8pm head to Jazz at The Remedy. 

The Festival culminates with the Labor Day Jazz Festival, a 3-day musical experience featuring a unique mix of world-class musicians in a one-of-a-kind format that lives up to its title: the Vail Jazz Party!

Summervail 50th Anniversary | July 19July 30, 2021
The 50th Anniversary includes a 10-day pop-up gallery at the Vail Public library featuring the original Summervail posters, photography, art and memorabilia. Offerings will include free kids art classes, gallery openings, photography class, cocktail receptions, music, dance and more.

Gourmet on the Gore | September 3September 5, 2021
This unique culinary festival and Labor Day Weekend tradition offers an open-air tasting with world-class wine, beer, and spirits paired with savory delights from Vail’s top culinary experts.

Headliner Music:  Summer brings the music scene outside with large scale national acts performing at the Gerald Ford Amphitheater.  Mark your calendar and purchase your tickets for these not to miss shows:

September 3:  Rodrigo Y Gabriela – With career album sales now in excess of 1.5 million worldwide, Mexican acoustic-rock duo Rodrigo y Gabriela won the GRAMMY® for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 2019 62nd GRAMMY® Awards ceremony.

September 11:  Death Cab For Cutie – One of the most exciting groups to emerge from the indie rock scene of the ’00s. They have been nominated for eight Grammy Awards.

*New Amphitheater Policy as of 9/1/21:  Attendees ages 12-and-older are required to show proof of vaccination, along with a photo ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport, driver’s permit, ski pass) that matches proof of vaccination card upon entry to the amphitheater. Negative test results in advance of a performance date will not be accepted in place of proof of vaccination.

Vail Oktoberfest™ | September 10-12, 2021 Lionshead & September 17-19 Vail Village
Take in time-honored traditions like keg bowling, stein lifting, and brat eating contests. Don your lederhosen and dirndls and enjoy music with legendary performer Helmut Fricker and all the Bavarian musicians in the line-up. There’s plenty of time to polka, grab a pretzel or strudel, drink beer, and say Prosit!

Vail Wine Classic | September 16-18, 2021
Elevate your wine experience at the Vail Wine Classic – where every ticket is VIP and every wine tastes better in fresh mountain air. Taste from hundreds of high end wines, spirits and beers nestled in Vail.
