VAIL, Colo. – February 1, 2022–Vail Jazz will launch this summer’s ticket sales on February 8, propelling forward the 28th year of the Festival scheduled from June 30 – September 5, 2022.
Over the years, the Vail Jazz Festival has featured some of the preeminent jazz greats and virtuosos in an ongoing series of musical events at a variety of venues throughout Vail. This summer, the Festival will include seven Thursday evening “Headliner” performances, eight free Sunday evening community concerts, and the beloved grand finale of the Festival, the Vail Jazz Party over Labor Day weekend.
“This summer’s lineup features some of the most exciting jazz music we’ve ever presented in Vail,” said Howard Stone, Founder and Artistic Director of Vail Jazz. “We have some incredible up-and-coming young musicians in the mix with established jazz giants. Each week will be something completely unique.”
Lionshead Village is the site for most Thursday evening headliner performances under the Jazz Tent presented by: Alpine Bank, The Jazz Cruise, 32 Bar Blues and the Town of Vail. Tickets go on sale February 8, 2022 at 10AM at vailjazz.org/live-performances/. Performers will be:

“This summer will be a joyous celebration of music,” said Amanda Blevins, Executive Director at Vail Jazz. “The past couple of summers have presented some challenges, but we worked through them to present live music, and we’re pleased to be able to do this once again.!”

THE VAIL JAZZ FESTIVAL KICKOFF:
The Festival will commence with a kickoff party the week before concerts begin. The event will feature musicians Diego Figueiredo and Ken Peplowski. Guests can plan for an intimate evening of cocktails, dinner, and world-class jazz. Event details and ticket information is forthcoming.
SUNDAY NIGHTS AT SOLARIS:
Solaris Plaza in Vail Village will be the venue for free Sunday evening performances from July 3 – Aug 21, 2022. The concert series will feature renowned regional performers; most Sundays will also showcase talented Colorado student jazz bands. Full details and lineup will be released this spring.
VAIL JAZZ PARTY LABOR DAY WEEKEND:
THE event that started it all – the Vail Jazz Party, over Labor Day weekend, September 1 – 5, 2022 – will bring together some of the biggest names in jazz in a constellation of group performances.
This year’s Vail Jazz Party will be a celebration of the life of Jeff Clayton and will include an honorary Big Band featuring music composed and performed by the late Clayton who was part of Vail Jazz since the beginning. All-access weekend passes include entry into all sessions of music as well as brunch before the popular Sunday morning Gospel show. Full details and lineup will be released this spring.
