Vail, Colorado – June 3, 2021 – After a stressful and isolating year, travelers are increasingly intentional about travel and focused on chances to “go big” for summer vacations, according to travel news site PhocusWire – and there’s no better place to do so than in Colorado’s Vail Valley. In touch with the 2021 travel trend of fewer-but-longer getaways, many travelers will be looking for opportunities to plunge into their pent-up dreams of adventure, and the Antlers at Vail hotel, conveniently located in a peaceful creekside location in Vail’s Lionshead neighborhood, is ready to welcome guests longing for an immersive bucket list visit that speaks to a desire to, as PhocusWire puts it, “make up for lost time.”
The Antlers at Vail’s new 5-Day Deep Dive package, available June 19 – September 25, 2021, hits all the marks, with options for couples, families and solo fun-seekers who want to thoroughly explore the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountain West. With the Antlers’ continuing focus on the health and safety of guests, this new four-night stay-and-play package is anchored by the hotel’s home-away-from-home condominium suites and open-air layout, an ideal base for launching into Vail’s fabulous mountain landscape for recreation and relaxation.
The Antlers at Vail 5-Day Deep Dive package is available to book online at antlersvail.com and can be personalized based on guests’ own goals for a dream getaway by engaging in any – or all – of four quintessential Colorado activities.
Bucket list adventure abounds on Antlers at Vail hotel’s new 5-Day Deep Dive package, from bike riding mountain trails to a guided fly-fishing trip (bike photo: Jack Affleck; fishing: Gore Creek Fly Fisherman).
The 5-Day Deep Dive includes these four adventures:
Bike iconic mountain trails: As one of Colorado’s premier destinations for mountain biking, the Vail area offers some 343 miles of trails, from beginner to expert, featuring a variety of terrain and lengths. Vail Sports provides all the gear – including a half-day of a trail or full-suspension bike and helmet, plus water bottle and map – and Eagle Bahn Gondola bike haul to take advantage of Vail Mountain’s trails and downhill thrills.
Fly-fish Gold Medal waters: First-timers and long-timers alike will appreciate a half-day of guided fly-fishing with Gore Creek Fly Fisherman, the Vail Valley’s oldest fly-fishing shop. Cast a line in the Gold Medal stretches of Gore Creek or on the Colorado, Eagle or Roaring Fork rivers on a half-day guided wading trip, with waders, boots, rods, reels, beverages and all flies used during the trip included (Colorado fishing license extra).
Explore the backcountry by horse: Explore Vail’s spectacular backcountry on horseback with Vail Stables, which offers one-and-a-half-hour family-friendly rides through the White River National Forest’s dense stands of aspen and lodgepole pine, across wildflower-blanketed meadows and alongside Spraddle Creek, with panoramic views of the Gore Range en route. Rides are suitable for beginners and up and include horsemanship tips and expert insights into local flora and fauna from knowledgeable guides.
Forest bathe like a naturalist: A deeply engaging outdoors experience with the Walking Mountains Science Center’s Vail Nature Center submerges the senses in guided walks that focus on nature’s bounty, such as birds, wildflowers and streams, including a family-friendly Evening Beaver Tour. Hike to a beaver pond and inspect the industrious creatures’ construction work while learning about the specialized habitat that supports Vail’s currently healthy beaver population. Antlers at Vail is donating the participation charge for Vail Nature Center activities as a new complimentary guest perk for 2021, benefiting both Antlers guests and the science center nonprofit.
Individually decorated Antlers condominiums offer home-like amenities with plenty of space to spread out, while Antlers’ creekside year-round pool and hot tubs invite with a chance to cool off and enjoy the view.
Accommodation options for the 5-day Deep Dive package include a studio condo for two people for $2,165; or a one-bedroom plus bunk room condo for a family of four for $3,410. The package runs June 19 – September 25, 2021, and prices include four nights and all four iconic activities. Reservations are based on availability (tax additional; no resort fees). Other condominium/group sizes (up to four bedrooms) or fewer activities are available; contact Antlers for customized pricing.
In addition to the deep-dive fun, Antlers is conveniently located at the base of Vail Mountain and nestled up against Gore Creek, just steps from the broad pedestrian-plaza center of Vail’s family-friendly Lionshead Village, where restaurants are open with expanded patio dining. Guests also can enjoy eating home-cooked or takeout meals in Antlers’ spacious guest suites – each equipped with full-size kitchens and dining areas, comfy living rooms with gas fireplaces and private balconies with gas grills.
