Vail Indoor Activities

Vail enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year, but there are those afternoon rain storms and rare days when it does rain.  Don’t let it ruin your time here….when it does come, it is usually short lived and the sun is back out before you know it! Plus, the rain keeps our mountains green and rivers flowing, so celebrate that and take the time to explore our recommended in-door activities.

Relax at the Spa
Vail has dozens of spa options each with therapies and services to help you unwind from daily life and your mountain adventures.

Visit the Colorado Ski Museum
Experience the history of Colorado snow sports at the Colorado Snowsports Museum, located atop the Vail Village parking garage and is open year-round.

Have some fun at Imagination Station
A hands-on children’s museum that integrates physical and cognitive learning for children ages two to 12 and their families.  A virtual reality wall, paint-your-own-pottery and art classes are also available.  Open year-round on the 3rd level of the Lionshead Parking Garage.

Go bowling at Deca + Bol
Located in Solaris Plaza, Bol is home to a 10-lane bowling alley open during the day and evenings.  The perfect family activity, with food and drinks also available while you bowl in this state of the art alley.

Shop/Visit Art Galleries
Both Vail Village and Lionshead Village are lined with hundreds of incredible shops and art galleries.  Grab a rain coat or umbrella and stroll the streets enjoying the shopping and galleries.

Grab some food and drinks
Wait out the usual fast moving rain storms at your favorite restaurant or bar!  Grab a seat or a stool and enjoy this time to grab some food and libations.  No matter what time of day it is, you’re never far from a restaurant or your favorite bar.

Watch a movie at the Riverwalk Theater in Edwards
The Riverwalk Theater is a quick 20 minute drive west from Vail and has 4 screens showing the latest movies day and night.  Grab some popcorn and take in a movie!
